As I looked to the woman across from me, I wondered, could I of lucked out better then today. My office,a disheveled hovel of a whole in the downtown of this fair city. With such small space, and such high rent, once would always wonder why I even bothered remaining her. Which, at the end of that thought, I just had to look up to the dame before me, long legs stretching into a skirt that even for todays standards would be considered playful nudity. Suffice to say, she was nice to look at. However, one thing kept me from asking her to the bar, and getting my hopes up that the evening would be my lucky night, the feary wings.

"Look, Mister Daffodil"

"Dawfodel"

"Yes, I come with a special request, I need you to find my god daughter."

I never heard a voice like that before, and all I could call it was magical. It's as if someone decided to string out a dolphin, give it speech lessons, and have it caught out roses all day. Although the imagery is disturbing, the sound itself was pleasant and soothing. I picked up the photo she had given me, and winced at what I saw. Bucktooth, dirty image of a child obviously mall nourished, and of not that great a condition. This was definetly love, cause if that were my kid, I'd lay her down where she dropped and run the other way.

"Lady, I'm sure she's a dentist's dream"

"Sir, if you would know what is best for you, I would suggest leaving the jokes at whatever bordelo you frequent, as it is clear a refined woman is not, and most likely will never be part of your life."

"That's a low blow there Miss, but I guess I deserver it. What's in it for this kid."

"I want to make her dreams come."

"Don't we all wish with had a godmother like you. Well. I'll take the job, simple enough, what's in it for me."

"I can make you dream come true"

"To revive John Candy so he can finish Wagons East?"

She laughed. I was in heaven.

"You'll have to trust me," she said.

By all that is holy and the corpse of Nostradomus, I did.

I saw He's Just Not That Into You last night with my friend Nadia, and I must say I enjoyed it immensely. Alot of the observational humour was quite on par with what most people have or are experiencing. The relationships are well done and built. After the fact I sorta imagined this movie as being the first few episodes of Sex in the City, and I think to some degree most could find some comparison. They intersperse changes in the plot with taped "real" people talking about aspects of relationship and their view one it.

Instead of New York, you have Baltimore
Instead of a Writer, you get an insurance inbound person
Instead of girlfriends wearing the most recent top couture, you have an attempt to portray women of a more common kind.

What I enjoyed is that the entertwined relationships or connection of all the characters were not directly shown and left you with a good amount of space to fill in the wholes. You pined for some of the characters, and hated others. Although I do see the point of many that commented on the film that it puts the majority of men in a bad light, one must also take into account that the film is dedicated mostly to a woman's view of things and should not be expected to offer any true debate on the relationship of men to women, or men to men, or women to women. To it's testament, as I've never read the book, it is a good analyse of the ideas behind the ideas of what is often times much misconstruing in the search for love.

The movie is entertaining. It is insightful. I enjoyed it. Go see it.

Portobello road, where you find everything. Where you get what you want and you want what you get. Forward then back, the merchants are there. Portobello road, for everything you could care.

I am Gremalkin de Ferdinand Bobnokin Dragonslayer, the greatest gnome illusionist you will ever know, have known and care to know.

Gremalkin, my dear Grem, you have shown me the art of roleplaying, you that shall be revisited and reborn. Soon, your dominion over all shall be proclaimed, as you simply stroll like the charismatic Gnome that you are. I need to write your story, as you write the story of others.

Ever create characters, and then suddenly without notice you actually end up liking them much more then you ever thought. Grem was one of these character, out of the blue, I wanted to make an illusionist. He was born, and since his death in another campaign I wanted to create him again in another.

Gremalkin and Mediana, characters that do not exist, but that I cannot see never making. They are strong in character in their own right, despite their characters being my devising. But on we go, worlds to create and destroy. A busy boy I am.

I look out into the world and I find it lacking.
I look to myself and find a reason to go on.
Forthright are the angels this day, singing theirs songs in epiphany
The pain courses
The pain resolves
Proof of life, proof of life
I look out into the world and I find it lacking

I've been playing alot of WoW between my heavy work schedule and social endeavours. And this is the creature that came out of it. The picture above is of Mediana, her story, a struggle to return to her roots. She had been left behind in the exodus, and when they returned, she had to learn from the ground up, finding faith in the old gods of Azeroth, many of whom still call the shadow their home.

When I started back into wow a few months ago, before the release of WotLK, I decided I wanted to do it slowly, where I could level a character from 1 to 70 in most likely 2 weeks, took me instead several months as I delved into the story, and built her up. And I think I learned to appreciate this character in its current for because I was not in a rush to get to the end. Now, I can't see myself not playing her. She had a reputation all her own. Dependable. Powerful.

I remember one day, before the new release, when I was doing alot of PVP (battlegrounds) and kept meeting alot of the same people (several servers of people in same battleground). One day, I had entered a type of capture the flag battleground known as Warsong Gulch. That day, people that I did not know, but knew me were there, and yelled in proclamation "Mediana is here, we will win". And that day, I stole that flag, and I brought it back 3 times, and it was exilerating to see the others protect my back and cheering me on. Mediana had power all her own, it was not me that took those flags, but her. She brought people hope, for know one knows my name, they know Mediana's.

She's a Shadowpriest, coming out from the darkness to heal the wounded when she is able, but nonetheless apart as she rips her opponents souls for daring to even go up against her. I think I like my character too much ... thank goodness I can manage my time.

The rain echoes so much today. It is a fuzy haze of mist as time seems to slow to a grinding halt. If one tries to take the time to simply stare for a moment at what goes by, one can probably see the fearies, angels and monsters that run through the world. It is calming as it is disturbing, but I'd rather stay with the first as my eyes settle upon the scenes.
I reached for the window, reminiscing about the past, and images appeared before me. Yet, despite their familiarity, I couldn't feel anything for them, but a contentment that whatever future held for those simulacrums, that they were better off. And then I thought of writing, and the empty books that stand before me did not seem to be true to the words I wanted them to contain, so instead I touched upon some keys and applied the words here.
Blasphemy I daresay, for all the things I've written to date. Stories of gnomish illusionists crawl through my head, and women of great stature and might in their own right. Weaving a tale I enjoy, however grandiose are my words. I ramble on it's true. Ongoing sentences which senses just are not true. I have to stop using big words, for writing as an intellectual is seemingly unheard, when you've formed the idea that you are the sunshine that exists in a word of grey, when truthfully you are more a lightbright, with colours on black.

Analytical natures should not delve into discussions that involve using more words then exist in the human vocabulary. One could introduce such a statement into the suspended disbelief that one actually believes that there could be more expressed without the institutional nature of a dictionary that decides to take its time to introduce colloquial culturally relevant words which ultimately should not truly be expressed in the mainstream. But suffice to say that this standpoint may be part of old rules and that moving on into such diverse a nature as language is as falicy to stick to what one was thought when one was young. It is always a difficult choice to either complain about the changes, or to follow them. Maybe remaining blissfully ignorant of it is a better option then analysing the falicy of choosing and picking what should be part of a language.

Recent Board Games I've place (maybe not so recent)
Settler of Catan : Brilliantly simply, brilliantly done, a game women can play, which is always a plus for a geek/nerd like me. It's difficult to compare it to more mainstream board games because it has an attitude all it's own

World of Warcraft Boardgame : Lots of dice, lots of figures, I'm geek, I'm male, and I like. It's Risk and DnD and reolplaying ... and ... well, it's simply fun, as the horde will rock your world.

Starcraft Boardgame : Unforgiving is the best term, I wanted to like it, I love the figures, I love the setup, but it becomes so slow, and one mistake will ruin the whole game, back to the self for you.

House on Haunted Hill : Brilliant, engaging and completly random. You explore a haunted house. Suddenly, one of the players go insane, and you are fighting to escape from the house as the one player tries to kill the rest. fun. You will never know who will be the bad guy, and you will never guess how twisted the bad guy will be.

Monster Mayhem : Simple, maybe too simple. It's fun at first, but multiple game play just makes it repetive. It's been on the shelf for a long time after the second play.

Runebound : DnD at it's best. Go kill stuff. Go get stuff. it's a fun play when you are bored, and fast play is way better

Decent : Make sure you have someone who knows how to GM, because you'll hate the person that doesn't know how to be an overlord, and will hate this game. You need the leader to be someone who knows how to build tension. Not for beginners

And as for my new reads:

Boys Over Flowers : no 28 came out in english, it was so sweet, another story behind why one of the F4 is the way he is. Damn bastard. Why didn't you go?

Ultimate Spiderman : Came on in the late 90s I believe, a retelling of the classic story with a modern twist. Normally, my heart dispisses any modern twists on classical heroes, but, I'm liking. I love the fact that mary jane and peter are friends from the onset. I really want to read more to see what else is different.

Bone: Awesome read, awesome heart, it goes to the top of my list. The characters are well done, the story is engaging and twisted, what more can you want. Now ... can a white blob have a relationship with a human woman ... questions ... questions.

I'm outie

So, I've been trying to show people how I relieve stress at work, and technically it should work for everyone, but their doubth and faithless ways block their receptors from accepting this technique. Submitted for your approval, Stress relief technique number 451, The Evil Villain technique.

1. Bring your hands close as if clapping but without touching themselves. A distance of about 1 to 2 inches between both palms
2. Curve your fingers until each tip touch the opposite finger and press lightly, forming a cathedral shape.
3. In a deep thoughtful voice, intone the voice "indeed". Not too loudly, audible for others to hear, but low enough to seem as if it's meant for yourself.
4. Laugh meglomanically. It is more effective if you are able to start low and bring it to a louder tone to make others turn around and stare at you.
5. Look around, looking around to see if others heard you, do it as suspiciously as possible, but if someone is looking at you, act as if they never saw you.
6. Return to work having now relieved your stress.

It works for evil villains, it can work for you.

So, I'm weirded out by this, because, well, the whole idea that this happened in the same month weirds me out. Two notable webcomic Gurus, Woody Hearn (of GU Comicsface) and Fred Gallagher (of Megatokyo fame) have had babies. Or may I saw their children have arrived in practically the same week. I must profess wanting to ask them if their children were born at the same time. Someone should suggest to them that their children should hang out. The coincidences are just .. too fightening, it's like those children may change the world ... and I'm a conspiracy nut. Think about it. Two popular web comic artists having a child in the same week .. their first child for each ... WOW.
